Elementary School, Maylene, Al Montgomery Chapter 102 works diligently to
expose the educators and youth of our region to the wonders and opportunities
of aerospace education. Ø Introducing them to the historic contributions
of the Wright Brothers at MAFB; Ø Exposing them to a variety of Air Force and
aerospace career mentors, such as air traffic controllers and pilots; Ø Providing an array of aerospace/STEM
educational activities; Ø Welcoming young adult role models into their
lives from Officer Training School students and Auburn’s ROTC Arnold Air
Society and Silver Wings chapter members; and Ø Ø AFA Aerospace Chapter Teacher of the Year Award Ø Ø AFA’s Elementary Cyber Education Initiative Ø AFA’s
High School StellarXplorers Program Ø AFA’s Educator Grant Program Ø Ø Professional Development Sessions during Civil Air Patrol’s Teacher Orientation Program

the chapter invites area 4th grade students to tour Maxwell Air
Force Base:
Rewarding winners of the annual AE Essay
Contest with awards and flights in Civil Air Patrol airplanes.
To help
perpetuate an interest in teachers to promote science, technology, engineering
and math (STEM) subjects and careers to their students, the Montgomery Chapter
provides an assortment of unique aerospace/STEM opportunities for educators/students:
